DAVE LAMB

TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR FAMILY.

Brenda and I met at college, but didn't start getting together until about a year after graduation.  We married in 1987, and settled in Grand Rapids where we lived until 2014.  We have three daughters: Rachel, Stacy and Susan.

HOW DID YOU FIRST COME TO SOJOURN (AND WHEN)?

We were familiar with Sojourn before we moved up to Lake Ann at the end of the summer in 2014.  As we got settled in the area, it didn't take long to decide that Sojourn was the place we wanted to be a part of.

WHEN/HOW DID YOU BECOME A BELIEVER?

I grew up in a home with wonderful Christian parents.  They modeled obedience to God's Word, and were faithful in our local church.  It was as a young child I learned the simple truths of the Gospel: God, man, Christ, and response, and placed my faith in Christ.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR CURRENT PROFESSION (AND HOW GOD CALLED YOU THERE).

I currently serve as the Managing Director of Lake Ann Camp.  I had been involved at the camp in various volunteer capacities for many years while we lived in Grand Rapids.  Through a long list of circumstances, the Lord allowed me to fill a need at the camp with the experiences, gifts and passions He has given me.

WHAT WAYS HAVE YOU SERVED IN CHURCHES PREVIOUSLY?

In Grand Rapids, I was able to serve for 24 years as a pastor at Highland Hills Baptist Church.  The first 8 years I served with responsibilities for youth ministry, and then for 16 years as the lead pastor.

WHAT AREAS OF LOCAL CHURCH MINISTRY GET YOU MOST EXCITED?

I get most excited when I see God at work, bringing the Gospel to bare in the lives of people.  I love it when the life-transforming Word of God is understood, and in the power of the Holy Spirit applied and joyfully lived out.  What is more exciting than that?
