In 2009, Pastor Matt and the church leadership were seeking a way to reach out to our community. Matt discovered a ministry called Touch Twice United that was putting on one-day free health clinics across the country. He downloaded the manual, put together a team and TC CARES was born. Originally called Traverse Life Clinic, the event has served 250-500 guests each year with free medical, dental, optical, physical therapy, chiropractic, family photos, a warm meal, winter outerwear, haircuts, health and hygiene items and access to representatives from ministries and state agencies.
What makes the day extra special is the role of the advocate. Each guest or family is paired with an advocate for the day and helps them get an appointment, navigate our building, shares lunch with them and gets to know them. Our guests love this personal connection! Some advocates are able to share the message of hope, love and forgiveness found in Jesus Christ. After all - that is why we are here!
On Saturday, October 14th from 10 am to 2 pm, the mission field is coming to us!  It takes a lot of volunteers to make this day happen. An informational meeting will take place on Tuesday, August 8th at 6 pm for more information. Dinner will also be provided.  Please RSVP at the welcome desk or contact the church office (946-6938) or me at
I hope to see you there!
