We are doing it AGAIN!
We have a team of Sojourners traveling to Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, from July 26th - August 9th to visit the Suzanne Wright Carepoint with Christ's Hope International.
Just a reminder.....baby bottles are due back this Sunday, Father's Day, June 17th for the Pregnancy Care Center Baby Bottle Boomerang Fundraiser. All of the funds collected help to provide women with free and professional ultrasounds.
We are doing it AGAIN! On the first Sunday of Cherry Festival, Sunday, July 1st, we will gather at 10am for a combined Worship Service at The City Opera House.
In 2009 God started to disrupt our church...and, looking back, we desperately needed it. As we tried to follow Jesus, God opened up a partnership with a small network of churches called Sojourn Network.
Our next Members Meeting is scheduled for this Sunday, May 20th at 6pm.
The Pregnancy Care Center is sponsoring their annual Baby Bottle Boomerang.
We'd like to introduce you to Kyle McMahon!
After several months of collecting resumes, receiving filled-out questionnaires, and prayerfully discussing how it seems God is leading, Sojourn's elders are really excited about the potential partnership between Sojourn and Kyle. At this point in the process, we're putting him before you - the Sojourn family - and we're asking you to jump in and get to know Kyle.
Friends of the Heydlauff family have shared an opportunity with Sojourn to bless Jeff and Kate and their family with a gift called Boombox.
Here are two opportunities to give to those in our community.
A few weeks ago we featured the book review of "The Gospel Comes With A House Key". It is written by the super-insightful Rosaria Butterfield and is available on our Book Wall. She makes the case that hospitality has been a beautiful reflection of the gospel from the beginning. She also invites us to consider how we may be missing out on the blessing of community that result from hospitality being a more central part of our lives. It helps us more deeply process what Paul meant in Romans 15:7 when he says "welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you".
Kids Hope - Teacher Appreciation Week
For the last six years, Sojourn has served Silver Lake Elementary through Kids Hope USA. We have developed a strong partnership with the school through this mentoring program and continue to seek out opportunities to serve the students and their staff.
Here is a book from our book wall this week....check it out!
Matthew 27:57-66 (ESV)
When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who also was a disciple of Jesus. He went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate ordered it to be given to him. And Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen shroud and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had cut in the rock. And he rolled a great stone to the entrance of the tomb and went away. Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were there, sitting opposite the tomb.
Dear Church Family,
Greetings! We are just about one week from Easter. This pre-Easter season, often referred to as Lent, is an invitation to think deeply about the reality of physical death, about the reality of spiritual death and to long for a rescue from both.
Sojourn Church is hosting a week at Safe Harbor Homeless Shelter this Spring Break (March 24-31)
Here’s the latest:
As of this morning, we have 81 of the 137 volunteer positions filled. Way to go Church! Although most volunteer opportunities still have openings, our most critical need continues to be the overnight shift.
Young Life Benefit Night - Visit Culver's at the 101 US Hwy 31 S location on Wednesday, March 14th from 5:00 - 8:00pm and be served by some awesome Young Life students and leaders!

Join us as Sojourn Church hosts a week at Safe Harbor Homeless Shelter!
This Spring Break, March 24-31, Sojourn Church will be caring for our local homeless population by staffing the all new, permanent shelter near downtown Traverse City.
What is Lent? The word “Lent” comes from the Old English word “lengten,” which simply means “spring” — when the days lengthen and new life springs forth.
