We partner with parents

TO TEACH children

to love AND FOLLOW JESUS.

currently, Here is what you can expect with sojourn kids:

4 years - 5th grade

  • Sojourn Kids classes for children ages 4 years - 2nd grade will be conducted on the lower level and the 3rd - 5th grade class will be conducted in the loft area on the main level during the sermon time.  Children in these age groups will begin the service time in the auditorium with their families, and they will be dismissed mid-way through the service.  Large-group activities will be held in the gym, and separate, age-appropriate instruction will be provided in smaller settings.

1 - 3 Years

  • There will be Sojourn Kids programming for children between 1 and 3 years of age.  This program for toddlers will be conducted throughout the entire morning service.  Once they have been checked-in at the Sojourn Kids check-in station in the lobby, these children may be brought directly to the toddler classroom on the lower level.  The classroom will open 15 minutes prior to the service.

NURSERY

  • There will be Sojourn Kids programming for children under the age of 12 months in our nursery. This program for nursery will be conducted throughout the entire morning service.  Once they have been checked-in at the Sojourn Kids check-in station in the lobby, these children may be brought directly to the nursery classroom on the main level.  The classroom will open 15 minutes prior to the service.

Sojourn Kids Mission and Goals

Here at Sojourn Church, we are representing the gospel of King Jesus while he renews all things. We are learning to wait patiently for him, while he reminds us again, and again, and again, that he delights in us. The resultant mission of Sojourn Kids is to partner with families in equipping children to know and love King Jesus. In order to carry out that mission, the Sojourn Kids team is committed to:

  • Preparing kids and families to worship together as they grow (we love when kids want to attend Sojourn Kids and we love when they want to attend church with their families instead).

  • Presenting age specific and developmentally appropriate gospel-centered curriculum. Kids will hear the gospel again, and again, and again.

  • Developing more and better strategic patterns of communication with parents and families.

  • Leading the way in demonstrating healthy, vibrant relationships within our volunteer teams, and with families.

bringing your family to sojourn for the first time?

We consider it a huge honor to have your whole family with us for worship. When you decide to leave your kids in our care, it is our top priority to make sure that they are in a safe, welcoming, gospel-rich environment with caring adults who take your children’s well being very seriously.

We offer childcare for babies (age 3ish months - 24 months), and kids ministry for toddlers - 5th grade. For more information on our check-in procedures, safety policies, health and hygiene information, and classrooms offered, click below for a summary of Sojourn Kids policies.

The biggest story Curriculum

The Biggest Story Curriculum Here at Sojourn we believe that God’s story is the most beautiful story ever told, full of wonder and scandalous grace. There is nothing more important for our youngest Sojourners than imparting to them a rich vision of the gospel. The Biggest Story Curriculum is used for our PreK-5th graders and goes through the key Bible stories from Genesis to Revelation. Through these stories it will help guide our kiddos into understanding and believing in God’s plan to redeem the world through his Son, Jesus. For more information about The Biggest Story Curriculum, click here, or email Jen Anderson at janderson@sojourntraverse.com.

Volunteering with Sojourn Kids

Let’s face it. Kids ministry is the most fun. At Sojourn, we are committed to wholehearted volunteer care, caring relationships, and the ongoing spiritual growth of anyone who serves here. The Sojourn Kids ministry team is a diverse crew of committed adults and teen leaders who pray, teach, play, and engage in authentic friendship with kids, all while fostering a safe and welcoming environment for learning and worship. If you have a heart for kids to know and love King Jesus, we would love to talk with you more about joining the team.
