Welcome to Sojourn Students!

We meet during the school year on Wednesdays from 7:00–8:30 p.m. at the Sojourn Church building.

For the first part of this semester, we will be conducting a six-week series called From the Inside Out. The framework for this series is a prayer for a virtuous heart by the 13th-century theologian Thomas Aquinas.

"Give me, O Lord, a steadfast heart, which no unworthy thought can drag down; an unconquered heart, which no tribulation can wear out; an upright heart, which no unworthy purpose can tempt aside. Bestow upon me understanding to know you, diligence to seek you, wisdom to find you, and faithfulness that finally may embrace you. Amen."

Our overall goals for the series are as follows:

  • Understand what is truly going on in the human heart and how Jesus gives us a new heart through His life, death, and resurrection.

  • Learn from Scripture what it means to follow Christ with a steadfast heart, especially through periods of tribulation.

  • Learn practical tools, such as prayer and Scripture meditation, to grow in confidence in the gospel and to live faithfully for God each day.

Our series outline:

  • Week One (01/21): "What is the Heart? A Diagnosis and Cure"

  • Week Two (01/28): "Steadfastness: What Does it Mean and Look Like?"

  • First Wednesday (02/04): Annual Meeting (NO YOUTH)
